Connor Campbell

As VX develops and the standards get ever higher, our top players are constantly pushing the boundaries.  Because of this Global VX now have a Strength and Conditioning specialist, Connor Campbell, on board as part of the team.

Connor will be preparing an introductory presentation and then preparing videos and templates for VX which will be available as downloads for use by VXers.

Global VX’s Head of Strength & Conditioning – Connor Campbell

Originally from Yeovil, Somerset Connor has lived in Cyprus, Ireland and Germany. Whilst living in these countries he was permanently based in York, North Yorkshire where he attended Queen Ethelburga’s College, to study his GCSEs and A-levels. Upon completing his A-levels in Sports Performance he attained a place at Northumbria University. Graduating university with First Class Honours whilst studying Applied Sport and Exercise Science, his focus turned to Strength and Conditioning.

Since graduating he has worked with athletes at Imperial College London, Kings College London and Andover Athletics Club. He is working towards his UKSCA accreditation in 2017. He is also practicing to become a qualified BWL coach and is a member of BASES.

His sporting background started off in a variety of different sports ranging from Football, squash, athletics, cricket, basketball, dodgeball and most importantly rugby! He went on to play rugby for North Yorkshire Barbarians Independent schools team, and was invited to North Yorkshire County trials. Sadly this is where his rugby career ended as shortly after he tore his left ACL. When he joined Northumbria University he decided to take up American Football. Since giving up American Football back in 2014 after tearing his right ACL, his passion turned to Olympic Weightlifting and CrossFit which is what he continues to do today.

Since meeting VX at a Careers in Sport event  Connor was keen to bring his expertise to help the development of VX.  He has come on board with Global VX to head up the Strength and Conditioning and to put in place a programme that will compliment your performance! He is delighted to become part of VX and is looking forward to meeting everyone.
